Oolong Teas

While oolong is again made from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis bush, the process is different again – and even more time consuming. To make oolong, the tea leaves are left to wither in the sun, then allowed to partially oxidise before being curled or twisted by hand. For the very finest examples, unique tea bush cultivars have been exclusively developed. As with green teas, because of the lengthy and infinitely variable production process, oolong tea styles vary greatly, from sweet and fruity to deep and woody. They are generally more full-bodied than green teas, but lighter and more aromatic than black. We think oolong makes a lovely, palate-cleansing afternoon refresher.
